Please read this fascinating account of the capture of the 42nd Massachusetts and their trip to prison camp, via Houston, then Beaumont to Burr's Ferry, LA. The story of Pvt. David Chapin, Co. I, is truly very sad.

I know members of the family who are caring for Pvt. Chapin's grave.
