Does your Gillespie County roster lists any of the 24 petitioners, cited below, from these seven counties: Gillespie, Kimble, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, and San Saba?

Please help identify the 24 signers of an 1864 petition requesting protection from marauding Indians. Thus far, only six have been identified. Colonel James Buckner Barry of Mason County forwarded this petition with a cover letter to Colonel James Bourland in Cooke County. Below is a facsimile of the page with petitioners’ names from THE BOURLAND PAPERS.
