After reading about the very high mortality rate of the 10th Texas Cavalry, I am amazed that my ggrandfather, William Fannin Hanson, and his brothers John Middlebrooks Hanson, and Thomas Silas Hanson all made it back home to Smith Co. alive. All three joined in Wood Co. together.
