I think I remember us communicating before as well. Thank you for getting in touch with me. I am in good shape on the prisoner lists. I also have some nice references in the book from the 1865 Fort Smith newspaper about one of the men who escaped Camp Ford and his thoughts on conditions there. Interestingly, it was a fairly balanced view. He talked about lack of food, etc., but then immediately mentioned that the Confederates were eating exactly the same as the prisoners so that any hunger he experienced wasn't intentional.

Do you have any modern photographs of the prison site? If so, I would be very interested in using one.
