The Texas in the Civil War Message Board

1902 United Daughters of CSA Listing; STIRPES

Gary D. Bray,

Thank you for answering my UDC question.

I received this data was about 15 years ago that I immediately sent, with questions (plus the forgotten SASE, i.e., self-addressed, stamped envelop), to the genealogy library in McKinney TX. ..They responded with a reasoned answer stating that they couldn't find anything about this Scott Dickson Chapter of the UDC.

A query on this message board a few days ago tickled my memory, so I posted data from my 674-page BENJAMIN BOURLAND & FOURTEEN OF HIS CHILDREN. ..I'm relieved to learn that this info was not lost.

For your information, I am the new editor of STIRPES, an 80-page quarterly of the Texas State Genealogical Society. ..The Sept. 2007 issue is drastically different than previous issues, but in Jan 2008 we expect to redesign this important publication that has a worldwide circulation.

I must quickly add that in the Sep 2007 issue of STIRPES, the Table of Contents includes:

......Lone Star History Links, Primary Source Documents

......Brush Battalion Confederates from Dallas, Kaufman, Navarro, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood Counties, Texas

......Petitioners from Gillespie, Kimble, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, and San Saba Counties, Texas

......Forted up in 1865 at Fort Davis, Stephens County, Texas

......Links: Texas and Indian Territory History
