The Bridge/Bridges listed below are found in the Ross' Texas Cavalry Brigade. All but Company M, 27th Texas Cavalry cane from known Texas locations. Maybe you can match the wife's location to one of these counties. Most men in a company came from a specific county came from that county, but that was not always true. Company I, 6th Texas was a sharpshooter company and people were from many areas of the state. My two Tennessee soldiers were in I but had been in K an D. Some soldiers road up and joined at muster. If you can get close you can get military records and maybe pension records. Perhaps the wife put in for a pension. That also would be on file.
