Re: Co.K Mounted Volunteer Regt., Col J.E. McCord,

Thank you so very much Gary!

If you can find even a scrap more of information about this guy I will be eternally grateful. He is very elusive and basically all I have on him is his Confederate index, his Texas Ranger index,

name: Clark, John
rank: private
Comm. Ofc: Wm. H. Ledbetter
organ: Co., N. Minute men, San Saba Co
date enlisted: Sept. 13, 1872
date disc: Oct. 20, 1872
description: blank

and the 1870 San Saba and 1880 Burnet census including a vague story about his and his wife's murder about 1881 after they returned from living near Mason in the mid- 1870's. There are some land records for different John Clarks but how do you separate him from all the other John Clarks. I can't find probate, tombstone, cemetery, newspaper or any other information on their deaths. So any thing you find will certainly be most appreciated.
