Mr. Pitts: In a 6-10-05 posting you mentioned that my g-grandfather (Thomas Jefferson Bright) reenlisted in Capt. Hamilton's unit, Stuart's Cav. battalion. Do you have a date that he reenlisted and also I came across a statement given by Mr.Bright that said he reenlisted in Capt. Hamilton's Co. D of the 50th Ala. infantry(unit that was the 26th when he joined in late 1861). I don't know which is correct,as his father was James H. Bright (age 50 in late 1861) that joined when Thomas did in late 1861, and there is a James H. Bright showing also in 11th Ala. Cavalry. James showed to be discharged from service with the 26/50th in July,1862 because of his inability to physically perform as a soldier. Could he have joined a cavalry unit later with his son?? I hate to bother you with all of this, but I am trying to tie together Thomas J. Bright's service with all the units he was in, plus battles he particiapted in. Thanks again for anything you can do for me. Also I have a copy of his service file I ordered through you, but it relates only to the time with the 26/50th. Lynn
