re: Gear, Geer of Red River County, Texas; had son-in-law, with surname "Allen" mentioned in a November 28, 1863 document.
.
Please help identify the Gear/Geer mentioned in the following quote from a November 28, 1863 handwritten document found in THE BOURLAND PAPERS.
.
**********************************
.
" ... That two men named Allen of Red River County and Brawley near mouth of Bois d’arc [Creek and
Red River] of this county [Fannin County] believing him to be friendly to their party told him they wished
him to join them as soon as possible, that [H.] Boren and his men understood each other. ...

P.S. — The man Allen of Red River County, referenced to by Adams, is a son-in-law of __ (? Gear), who is well known in that County. ... ”

.
The Brawley/ Braly was probably the Samuel S. Brawley (b-1815 NC) of Steven’s 22d Cav-1st Indian-Texas CSA Regt, or his son (? Harmon) Brawley (b-1839 NC).
.
H. Boren was Henry Boren (1828 AR-1868 Collin Co TX)
.
Two men named "Allen" lived Red River County, Texas.
