Editor's notes:
1) Anderson Bone was in Howell’s Battery, most of whom were recruited from Fannin and Lamar Counties.
2) D.M. and Francis M. Bone were both in Co K, Baylor's Regt, TX Cav., Co K, Arizona Brigade. ..Since they were in the same
..........company, it is possible that they were brothers.
3) G.R. Bone lived next door to Alfred Y. Bone in Denton County and served in his brother’s (John W.) Bone’s Company
4) Jeremiah T. is probably the "J.T." that served in Terrall’s 37th Cav.
5) Young Ewing Bone and age was given in a Cooke County militia. ..I looked at my handwritten originals again. I closely
.........examined of the name written twice: one looked like “G. E.” and the other was “Y. E.”

Late in the War, many from the Montague County, Texas area residents who had served in Confederate units back east, returned to the North and West Frontier to protect the livestock and settlers. ..These soldiers patrolled from a few weeks to two years in the TST militias commanded by Throckmorton, Well's CSA Battalion, McCord's CSA Frontier Rangers, as well as Bourland's CSA Regiment.

Please help us learn more about these Bone brothers.
