13 Bone brothers' Confederate Service

Jack Danel,
.
What was the definition of "brothers"?
.
Family tradition stories ususally have a hint of truth, and I think your "13 Bone brothers served in the Confederacy" legend is no exception. ..What was their definition of "brothers"? ..I have not studied your Bone family -- other than mentioning them in my book -- but the 1850 Fannin County census shows two Bone families that had boys who served in the Confederacy and yes, they add up to 13. ..Yeah!

Editor's note:

Did you see that a 1-year old boy had the Christian name "Doctor"? ..I've seen "General" and "Major" used as Christian names, but this is the first time I've seen "Doctor."
.
Doctor Matthew Bone, age 12 or 13 is listed as the "D.M. Bone" in Baylor's Regt, TX Cav., Co K, Arizona Brigade along with his brother "F.M. Bone," age 16 or 17 on the following website. ..Captain Albert McFarland, of Fannin County, was the Company K commanding officer.

http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.cfm

"F.M. Bone" is also listed in Rutherford's Infantry Co. This is plausible because most of Rutherford's men were Fannin and Lamar County residents.

.
Since "Captain John W. Bone" is mentioned on 17 pages of my 1,022-page book that is 70 percent from handwritten records, I'm particularly interested in him.
.
Please send additions and corrections on the vital data I have on these Bones.
