Re: 13 Bone brothers' Confederate Service

Patti, That last posting of your's really helps to clear things up. There are two, maybe three families - Agoneh's and Alfred's. I do not know for sure that they are related.

Here are the remaining mysteries:

(A) We apparently have two John Bones:

(1) John W, (son of Agoneh and Sallie?, brother of GR Bone and AY Bone?, husband of Elizabeth), founder and commander of Bone's Company? Not on 1850 census.

(2) John, (son of Alfred and Rachel, husband of Amanda) 1st Rgt, Texas Inf. State Troops. This is the one on the census.

(B) James P and Jeremiah T, (sons? of Alfred, born 1838 or 1839?). The 1850 census shows a JP, but NOT a JT. The best Alfred Bone genealogy that I have found says "no James", but "yes Jeremiah" A real conflict. James does fit very well into a gap in the birth order, and he served in the 22nd with "brothers" JF and YE, sons of Alfred.

(C) Who were Henry and Thomas? Older sons of Agoneh? Or is this a third family? James or Jeremiah fit here?

(D) Why is Cary, (wife of ML, Dau-in-law of Alfred) mentioned in your book? Her children, LR and MC, were born in '47 and '49, so were too young to serve. ML apparently didn't serve. Did she?

(E) Are Agoneh and Alfred related?

We are getting into range of 13.
