Re: 13 Bone brothers' Confederate Service

Mike,

Being 38 in 1863, this Jno. W. would have been born about 1825 or 1826. Shown as Capt., Co. B, 2 Tex Cav TST, which was a 6 month unit in 1863-64

The John W that Patricia is showing would have been born about 1825 or 1826. Shown as Capt., Capt Bone's Co, CSA.

The personal info matches very well, but the unit ID doesn't.

Does anyone have history of Capt. Bone's Company that would show it to clearly NOT be the same as this 6 month unit? That way it might be clear whether these Capt.John W Bones were the same or not.

Or how about John W in the 1850 Grayson Co census?

John, son of Alfred, was born in 1823. I have never seen him listed with a middle initial. For now, I am not convinced that he is the same guy as John W. I am thinking he is the one shown in 1st Infantry Rgt., TST
