Randy Gilbert,

Quoting:
...a grant to copy all of the TM and Texas material. It would take four or five people a summer to image them and then would be a major effort to organize and categorize them.

Your wish has come true -- at least for partially -- for the seven militia brigades (now 34 counties) of North Texas. ..I have transcribed, interpreted, and indexed 240 Texas Militia and State Troops listings plus the accompanying correspondence. ..When you consider that by Aug 9, 1861 there had been about "400 militia groups in Texas organized" (per ORsIvIV[S#4]ch11p99), I have accomplished the lion's share of your proposal. ..But then I address only 7 of of the 32 militia brigades, albeit an historically important and huge geographic area that has received short shrift thus far.

You have to see my 1,022-book to believe it (i.e., that one human being compiled this tome).
