C.B. Adams 8th TX - Beauvoir Soldiers Home Inmate

Lisa Foster,
.
I read your posting with interest.

My great friend, Dr. Richard Bryan McCaslin of North Texas State University in Denton TX, may be able to help you. ..He was born and raised in the Ocean Springs, Mississippi area and worked at the renown "Mary Mahoney's Old French House" in Biloxi MS during the summers of his youth. ..(I remember the small slave rooms that are not mentioned in the brief history.) ..He has a special affinity for the Beauvoir Jefferson Davis Memorial Soldiers Home in Biloxi, Mississippi.

When Hurricane Betsy hit in 1965, I was on the faculty of South Park College in Long Beach, Harrison County, Mississippi. ..I thought I was disturbed in 1965, but I cry every time I think of the effects of Katrina on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Louisiana coast, and esp. New Orleans. ..Yes, tears well every time I hear newscasters mention Katrina.

Titus Co TX. The "Charles Adams, b-1836 MS, m-Adalaid" of the 1860 Titus County TX census is not mentioned in any of my 240 North Texas militia listings.
