One of the burials in the Confederate section of Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, S.C., is the following:

A. McCook, 5 TEX

The Confederate section in this city cemetery was not started until sometime in 1864. I do not see any McCooks listed as members of the 5 TEX Infantry, and I suspect that he served with a cavalry unit from the Army of Tennessee. However, the msuter rolls for the 5 TEX Infantry are not complete. Any suggestions?
