I am trying to locate where my grgr-grandmother's brother died and where he is buried.

In a letter she wrote in the early 1900's, she stated her brother, Calvin Washington Seale, died fighting in the war in Indian Territory.

According to his Muster Roll, he enlisted in Boonville, Texas, with Co. I, 15th Texas Reg't. The final muster record, dated Feby. 1863, states he "Absent. Sick at Camp Kiamishi"

Does anyone know where Camp Kiamishi (or Kiamichi) would have been located? What were they doing in this area of Indian Territory?

Thanks for any insight. I'm determined to find this man's final resting place, even if he is in an unmarked grave.
