I can't help but wonder, did the Confederate get a grave marker? Is he actually listed among the dead? Wonder what the true death count on that place was anyway?
My great grandmother's first cousin, a Price out of Arkansas, was there and actually lived to come home. But that was probably because he was young and strong. I feel sure the Union never realized he was related to Gen. Sterling Price, or he would never left Chicago.
Also, if anyone is wanting to visit St. Charles/Arkansas Post and or Helena, I would suggest you do it in cool weather, and not the hot summer time.
