Henry D. Acthinson, Denton Co; Darnell's 18th Cav

Norma Stacy,

I thought info about your "John D. Actkinson" would help me learn more about the "Henry D. Actkinson, b-1831" mentioned in a Dention County militia listed in my 1,022-page book and my 134-page Name Index, but it didn't. ..Please help me learn more about "Henry D. Actkinson" of Denton County.
.
Where in Tennessee was your John D. Actkinson born? ..Did you find him on the 1850 and/or the 1860 U.S. censuses? ..What do you know about Henry Actkinson?

I have studied the various spellings of "Actkinson" since my direct ancestor was Henry Atkinson (various spellings, including Acthinson) of the Snow Creek area of the Franklin - Pittsylvania county line, Virginia. (m-1756 Goochland Co VA to Rachel Houchins, sis of Susannah Houchins who m-John Pace ... yes, I am a direct descendant of Houchins sisters, born in the 1730s. ... my Adkins m-1916 in Cotton Co OK to my Pace).
.
Perfectly thrilling to learn that I am a direct desc from Houchins sisters born in the 1730s.
