The men below were on rosters in Ross' Texas Cavalry Brigade. I put them all for your intrest. The T.J. in the 9th Texas Cavalry was mustered in Grayson County from 8 counties in North Texas. It is likely your TJ was from this unit. Many went home at the end of the war without signing any documents. Look at Gorge L. Griscom's Diary, Adjutant of the 9th Texas Cavalry. This document is a must when studying the 9th. You can see some at my site listed below.
