Tory Provost Literature.

--A correspondent sends the Atlanta Register the following. It is an official paper from the able pen of the Yankee Provost marshal of Monroe county, East Tennes see. It is an exact copy of the original, word for word and letter for letter:

Madisonville, Tenn ? ., Feb. 28, 1864. Mrs. Ena Stephens.

--I see myself Down this lavenin to Drope you a few lines to late you know that from the owe Rages has bin com Mitted by some person One none tome but Charging Albert Stephens Cleveland Stephens James Thomas and others there was three my Soldier mete in the Road on day this Last week and their horses & apparatus taken from them, and complaint being Made to Me and Asking that you and Dawtor Nathaniel Waterson & famety Thos. Heasely Sarah Thomas Nancy Haukins and Susan Haukins to be taken and held as hostages for the citing of Monroe County and property, I am Deterred to change the thing in this County So it there is any more Deliberation Don in this county you all shall be rested and placed in prison and hell in close confinements and it there is no Thing Don you all shall be protected as other citizen of said county Albert Stephens the last I saw of him me and him was grandly Since that time I under stand here has been Watching for me Swarin they intend to kill me I donte know how match of that is true Hite will prove Hite self if they Want friend Shape they can have hite or if blade is there moto tell them they shall have a nice time of hite, as Dente fear any person if there is any thing inter feed with at my house you Shall account for hite certain they can it they choua come in and take the Oath and become Loyal it note I had a proration (battalion) of men and laten to push all men that Dante become feasible to the end Now Dont be mistake in this matter for I laten to Do this Sorting I will in Good a proclamation of the president With the Oath in all will be asked of any of you is to com in & take the oath you all now me and that is All I will called of you so come and I will perfect you so long as you Behave yourselves.
