Please help me identify the soldiers mentioned below.

When I was in Tyler at a Texas State Genealogical Society Conference last month, several suggested that I contact you. ..They said that you know researchers who specialize in the Civil War era of the counties: Dallas, Kaufman, Navarro, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood.

About 2,000 men, mostly deserters, that included the named men below from the mentioned counties pooled in the creek bottoms of North Texas. ..I address 34 North Texas counties, but do not address the mentioned counties; hence, my query.

About 30 pages of my 1,022-page book addresses the "men in the bush" of North Texas, the "brush battalion", the "Brush Battalion", and the "Confederate Brush Battalion (my term)". ..THE BOURALND PAPERS is the best resource for studying the brush battalion, and I'm the first to try to make sense of these original records. ... I'm amazed that books have been written about Quantrill in North Texas without mentioning the brush battalion or Bourland.
