I am interested in the men from Company G of the 14th Iowa Infantry who were taken prisoners of war at Pleasant Hill Louisiana. Do you have much information on these men?

With wounded and dead men left behind, and other wounded taken away on various boats etc the regiment was badly scattered after Pleasant Hill and the records are very confused as to who was killed, who was was wounded, and who was taken alive as a prisoner, and who ultimately survived the Camp. The regiment was disbanded for their three year service almost half a year before the prisoners were released so naturally the record keeping for that six month period is not always reliable. men who were thought dead turn up alive, men who were reported to be alive never came home, and most of their graves have been lost. I wonder what your records show about the men of this regiment and company?
