Since I study Bourland's Border Regiment, I am trying to get the skinny on John Pedham Border's Regiment of Angelina Co TX.

As I understand it, in April 1864, Colonel Thomas Scott Anderson absorbed both Lt-Colonel Phil Fulcrod's Cadet TX Cavalry Battalion and John Pedham Border's CSA Cavalry. ..It was then called Anderson's Texas Cavalry of the CSA.

I could not find the "Jamerson" that you mentioned in the roster of Border's Regiment found on:

This Colonel T.S. Anderson is mentioned 4 times in my book including an Aug 30, 1864 Magruder to W.R. Boggs of Shreveport LA letter: ORsIv41/2[S#84]p1091.

My GGrandfather was a guard there in Borders Regmt.Texas Cav. in 1864.
I think that Col. Borders Regmt. was replaced by a Regmt. of State reservist commanded by a Col Jamerson (not sure on the spelling) in late 1964 or early 1865
