Gray, Henry, C.S.A., gen 1816-92, Appt.-La. Entering the 28th La. (presumably) early in the war as an officer, he was Col. by 17 May '62 and fought under Taylor during the Vicksburg siege. He was wounded at Bayou Teche and fought at Camp Bisland. In the Red River campaign he led a brigade in Mouton's division and was named B.G. C.S.A. 18 Mar. '65 to rank from the 17th.
