Col. Griffin's 21st Texas was actually stationed at Sabine Pass and involved in at least one action nearby.

  • 1st Texas Artillery, Lt. Col. John H. Manly
  • 6th Texas Field Battery, Lt. S. W. Allen
  • 8th Texas Field Battery, Capt. A. E. Dege
  • 4th Confederate Engineers, Capt. Milton G. Howe (one company)
  • 4th Confederate Engineers, Lt. Niles H. Smith (one company)
  • Cadet Company, Capt. W. M. Williamson
