Recently I discovered I have an ancestor named John Laughon (Laughan) who fought in Waul's Texas Legion. I'd like to find out more about him and what branch of the service he fought in. Waul's legion had all three. I'd appreciate any leads you could provide. I'm just beginning this process and am quite new at it. I am a member of civil war preservation trust and regularly travel to battle fields to study. I'd appreciate any help you could provide.
