I have been out of town a few days, or I could have made your looking even more easy. The website below for the Ross Texas cavalry Brigade gives all the history for the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 27th Texas Cavalry Regiments. There are links to several of the sites I see listed. Company D is one company I need to work on, but there is some data and the company roster. The regiment has much more data which will let you see what our kin did. You will be pleased to find the the 6th fought from Rome to Atlanta and then back to Tennessee with Hood. During the Famous raids by the Union around Atlanta, the 6th was in the middle of the fighting. You need to visit the sites from Rome to Atlanta. There are many brigade and regimental monuments. One difficulty with Company D, is the lack of one good site in Dallas to find data on small units. My kin were in Company I, which also came from Dallas. I have filled that company out the way I hope to do all the companies. Will gladly let you work on Company D and take the credit. I will even help all I can. Bill Nolan Commander Hill Country Camp #1938 and keeper of the Whitfield / Ross Texas Cavalry Brigade site. This data came from all over the Internet. I still find people I owe thanks and apologies.
