Texas CSA and Camp Nelson in Arkansas

Hello. I thought maybe someone would be interested in this.
According to our local paper, the Lonoke Democrat, a one acre cemetery known as Camp Nelson is in danger of "falling by the wayside" stated J.O. Issac. Issac was the person who led the clean up of the cemetery some 30 years ago while he served as an Air Force JROTC adviser at Cabot High School that is about 25 miles out of Little Rock.
Camp Nelson was where many of the CSA Texas boys who died of illness were removed to around about 1900. According to Issac, "this is the only pure Confederate cemetery in the state and for that alone, Camp Nelson Cemetery is woth the effort to keep it up."
The Camp Nelson Cemetery committee will meet in February to discuss ways to revive this part of history. Mr. Issac's phone number is 501-843-5005.
Per chance you wished to help, I feel sure he would be delighted to hear from you.
Thanks-
Linda Acrey
