My great grandfather, Hillary Bruce Bush, apparently joined the Benevides Regiment when it passed through Bonham. The only thing I can find in records is his name on a prisoner roster. He gives his rank as Private, his home base as Laredo, and his Company as C. The roster was compiled in Mississippi, where the unit apparently turned itself in.
He was 16 at the time and I'm guessing that he joined the regiment when it was stopping at the supply depot in Bonham (?) I'd appreciate any info that anyone out there might have.
