The surrender agreement took place without any enlisted men present. Paroles to indivudual were given out at different times and places. That information should appear in service files of soldiers. People usually notice the surrender date and place, and simply assume the soldier was present. A bit further down on the card the actual parole date and place should be recorded. For some reason people tend to overlook the second set of dates and places.
