I'm trying to locate information on the Calvin Herring family from the Craven County area of NC. He was in the NC 27th Inf. Calvin's father was Oliver Herring and his father-in-law was Alexander Rouse. Calvin Herring left NC after the Civil War. He spent time in Live Oak, TX. What happened between NC and there is a mystery to me. I believe it is during this time that his wife, Martha Rouse Herring died. He went to Live Oak because his older brother, Curtis Herring was ranching there. From Live Oak, Calvin moved to Pinos Altos, NM. His daughter, Sallie Rouse Herring, married James Columbus Anderson (originally from Brownwood, Tx.)Any information would be appreciated.
