Re: McCord's Frontier Regt, TX State Troops

My ancestor is James Hefley who is in the Confederate Indigents Lists (Feb. 18, 1864 Bosque County, Texas).

I can't seem to find any service records or pension records for him but I have found a W.J. Hefley that was in McCord's Frontier Regiment in Texas. Source is the Civil War soldiers and sailers site.

Does anybody know if this W.J. Hefley could be my James Hefley from Bosque County. And where could I start researching to find out.
