Being old, dumb and unafraid I venture the following. Many of the Texas US Military armories might have had this weapon. A photographer would not, because he would then have to have a weapon for several different catigories, such as artillery carbine, or a long rifle for sharpshooters, etc. Plus he was a travler usually and would have had a load already. Some of my Ross TX Brigade people could have had weapons like this from their raid in Dec 1862 and some close encounters in early 1863 when they ate some Infantry and Cavalry Regts in TN. The Soldiers liked to be seen with something fearce, like a pistol and a Bowie knife. A Henry was a supreme trophy.
