Could be TX Militia or CSA
In Response To: Re: Suggestion ()

For the indigent families list your ancestor could be in either the militia or CSA service. In case you want to look for Texas Militia service you should write to the Texas Archives with his name and county.

Bosque County was part of a brigade. I do not know the number of the brigade, but you should "hopefully" be able to get the number plus a muster roll if you request it from the Texas Archives. You might even post another item to this message board to find the brigade number for Bosque County.

James Williams has a webpage with Texas Confederate units and counties. From his web page I have copied the following Confederate Units but there may be others:

Bosque County

Company C, 1st (McCulloch's) Texas Cavalry

Company H, 1st (Yager's) Texas Cavalry

Company E, 8th Battalion, Texas Cavalry

Company B, 31st Texas Cavalry

Company A, Frontier Battalion, Texas Cavalry

Good hunting!
