The Corners: Collin, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt Counti

Jack DuBose,

A major purpose of my 1,046-page book is to address your question. ..I address four topics that have never been addressed in current Texas history books.
.
Before I came along, the only book that attempted to address the conundrum that your Dubose family of Hunt County faced was Gladys Bright Ray’s MURDER AT THE CORNERS (1957). ..The problem, with this and other books on this subject. is that these books begin after the Civil War.
.
You are right that the problems began before 1861 and the October 1862 Great Hanging of Gainesville had everything to do with the terror after the Civil War at The Corners: the juncture of Collin, Fannin, Grayson, and Hunt Counties.
.
The answers to your questions were in THE BOURLAND PAPERS that I transcribed then worked hundreds of hours trying to make sense of: there are reasons that I'm the first to transcribe this hard-to-read records. ... Some can wait for the narratives in several years in small books answering your question, but for now, none of this info that spans 40+ pages is on the Internet, at least this year.
.
Since we are old friends, drop me an e-mail.
