Alan, thanks for the info. What did he desert from...? I have never seen any of that info...

His tomb stone in Rose Hill Cem. in Ardmore, OK for the Confederate home say:
Guard of Albert Sidney Johnson. I am assuming they meant Johnston..I will try to find the military service files and pension application.
