Re: PrivateT.K. Seago CS Hebert’s Brig.

There are 14 cards contained in his Service Record Files. The first and last cards carry the name "G. Seago." Nonetheless, the index card for "G. Seago" refers to Tim K. Seago.

He, and I would believe a relative, Posey W. Seago, enlisted in Capt. John A Bryan's Company, South Kansas Texas Regiment, Mounted Volunteers, at Ft. Smith, Arkansas on July 27, 1861 as Privates. This company was later designated Co. I, 3rd Texas Cavalry.

Tim was wounded and captured at Iuka Sept. 19/20, 1862 and paroled at Cornith on October 14, 1862 along with Posey.

Posey was also wounded at this time and appears to have remained "Absent on Furlough West of the Mississippi River" Texas, as late as July 1864. There are 13 cards in his files.

Tim was promoted 2nd Sergeant by the time of his Company's muster of Jul/Aug 1863 and 1st Sgt on the May/Jun 1864 muster.
