Alex W. Jackson in Collin County militia
In Response To: Alexander W. Jackson ()

Mimi Jackson,
.
Your "Alexander W. Jackson" is listed in a Collin County militia in 1861. ..In the same militia was a "Perrin", so I think I have the right "A.W. Jackson".

Like Gary D. Bray, I must admit that when I saw the name "Alexander W. Jackson," I immediately thought of the "Alexander Jackson of Doomas' Company" attached to Bourland's Regt, but:
.
1) the Doomas Company was attached on June 22, 1864 to Bourland's Regt. and if anyone died after that, it would have been recorded.
.
2) all of Doomas Company lived in the Ladonia, Fannin Co TX area, although one in Hunt County shows a Ladonia Post Office.
.
3) the Doomas Company was composed of mostly kids.
.
.
Please send info about the brother "James W. Jackson", i.e, if he came to North Texas.
