McMullen boy given flag at Vicksburg...???

Hello -

At the FABULOUS Texas Civil War Museum (NW of Fort Worth), there is an exhibit of a First National Flag from Vicksburg.

This flag was supposedly "given to an 8 year old boy, Sidney McMullen by a CSA soldier fleeing Vicksburg in 1865".

This flag and story was given to the TCWM by a certain Pat Morris Cannon of Austin, Texas (and apparent descendant of Sidney McMullen).

Does anyone have any additional details re Sidney McMullen and this flag?

Some of my McMullen ancestors lived in/near Tallahatchie County MS at that time, so I an VERY interested in this story re the flag.....!!!!!

thank you,
