"Record of Events" was supposed to have been recorded by company commanders on each roll, but this part has been left blank on all company rolls of the 18th Texas Cavalry. There is a rather lengthy explanation of the reorganization and assignment of officers following exchange of Arkansas Post prisoners-of-war, but that may not be of interest.

Let me remind you that Marion Cox would have been at Beaumont during the 18th Texas Cavalry's service, so his daily activities would have been quite different from those of his regiment.

There are four rolls for 2nd Co. "F" of the 15th Texas Regiment having detailed record of events. These also report T. L. Cox and his status as a company member. Copies of Cox's military service file and the record of events are available here.
