A while back I tried to research my ancestor, W.P. Jacobs who hailed from Alvarado, Texas, as there are surviving records other than family history. He mustered into the 30th Calvary at Ft. McCullock (McCullogh) in 1862, and mustered out around April of 1865 when it was disbanded. I only have one surviving letter written in 1862, which was directed to family matters and while at Ft. McCullock, and am looking for any roster or mention of him during his service.
