My 1,046-page book addresses the Texas militias of 34 counties of North Texas, including Johnson County, during the Civil War era. ..Your W.P. Jacobs is not listed in my study plus I could not find him on the censuses.

Jacobs" entry: he was a Nacogdoches County TX resident during the 1860 census, which was rather unusual. ..Although (1) some of the Wells' Battalion from the Panola County area served between Fort Arbuckle, Indian Territory and Fort Belknap, Young County TX and (2) a few from the Panola County area served in Bourland's Regiment.
