Question: Was Company C of Sims' 9th Texas Cavalry present at the Dec 9, 1861 Battle of
.
I stumbled onto another kid, “Henry P. Mallory” who died “Dec 9, 1861,” the same day I had recorded that “Thomas Chaffin” died. Notice that both wer in the same Texas militia then were in Company C of Sims’ 9th Texas Cavalry. .. A search of my Name Index database and did not find another death on Dec 9, 1861. As you know, I rarely include the exact date of death, but only a year and county.
