Hardeman's Regiment should not be confused with Col. Tresevant C. Hawpe's 31st Texas Cavalry. Your ancestor's command was sometimes called the 31st, but his records are filed under Hardeman's Texas Cavalry, Co. "A". This includes a valuation of his horse and personal equipment carried into Confederate service. Copies are available here --
