Robbins first enlisted under Capt. L. D. Bradley in Co. "B", 2nd Battalion, Hilliard's Texas Legion, a resident of Freestone County TX. After being captured in Mississippi, Robbins joined a different command after returning home. This was Co. "F", 2nd Texas Cavalry Regiment. Since he was present on the company's last roll dated February 1864, it appears that this man survived the war.
