Dr. James R. Temple

Looking for information on Dr. James R. Temple who lived in Memphis, Hall Co., TX from 1897 to his death in 1929. J. R. Temple was born in 1839 in Bowling Green, KY, orphaned at 11, educated in MS, taught school in KY, enlisted in the Union Army in Co. J., 59th OH Inf. where he rose to 1st Lt. After the Civil War taught school again and entered medical sxhool in Louisville. After graduating, he practiced medicine in IN and after 1881 in Brooksville, Hernando Co., Florida. In 1897, he moved to Memphis, Hall Co., TX. During his years in Florida, he joined a Blue and Gray Association and is one of the men in this collage of pictures. Which numbered one. (See below)
