If you are searching for the same Charles "Henry" Maywald that is buried in Grimes County with a VA marker in the Plantersville Cemetery, I suggest you go to the Tomball (Chapperal) Genealogy Library. I donated some papers on him. I once worked as a teacher at Tomball High School and had my US History students write biographies of veterans. When I finished teaching I sent the photocopies of pensions, NARA files cards, etc. to the Tomball library. The students kept their biographies and so many years have past that I can not remember the students that did his biography. I do recall that he fought at Fort Butler in Louisiana with Tom Green's Texas Cavalry, but that is all I remember.
