FOUND Causalty List 36th Texas Cavalry

Dear Mr. Bozic,

I am trying to find William A. Taylor of DeWitt County, Texas, Clinton township, on the casualty list of Company G, 36th Texas Cavalry.

William A. Taylor was alive at the end of February 1864 when he requested leave of absence to see his family. He was dead by November 1864 when his widow filed to probate his estate. The probate record gives no place of death or date of death. However, a 1909 newspaper article mentioned that William A. Taylor was killed in Louisiana serving the Confederacy.

I'm trying to prove he died in Louisiana. The last regimental record for him (March 1865) says that he had deserted.

Thank you for your time.

Truly,
Marie A. Neuman
