Welcome to the "New" Virginia in the Civil War Message Board at History-Sites.Com. If you don't know me already, my name is Jim Martin and I'm the webmaster of this site and fifteen other Civil War message boards.

I have waited over two years to open this site, though I have family connections and a great deal of interest in Virginians and Virginia in the War Between the States, due to my respect for Jeff Weaver and his Virginia Civil War Message Board at sitegadgets.com .

Due to the lack of maintenance and monitoring, probably due to Mr. Weaver's health, of the Virginia Civil War Message Board, because of multiple requests by current contributors to the site and finally, due to the recent loss of the files and access to the site, I have decided to go ahead and make this message board available.

For those of you who are familiar with my other sites, you know I try to keep us on topic, do not tolerate commercial or abusive postings and monitor regularly the activity on these sites.
